At the September 3, 2019 meeting of the Planning and Zoning Board, the board decided to wait until revisions to the Code are received in order to make a determination regarding LWRP consistency. Here is the letter that we sent to the Trustees on September 3.

The reason that we are waiting to make our determination is that based on numerous code review sessions that the Planning Board has held over the past few months, the board submitted more than three hundred comments on the code to the Trustees. The majority of those comments were minor changes that were requested. They included typos and areas where we felt the code was not clear or consistent.

There are other substantial revisions that are also being considered before the code is adopted, including the modification of the telecommunications section of the zoning code. We are waiting to see if that section will be revised to incorporate recommendations of consultants to the village and FCC model code and we will have to include it on our list of code to review.

While we are awaiting a revised version of the code, we are proceeding to look closely at the sections from the July draft that we have not yet reviewed. At our last meeting we looked at the section on site plans (§210-34), and in subsequent meetings we will be looking at sections on review procedures for things like special use permits and variances (§210-35 through §210-39). The most recent draft of the code that we are looking at is here. Our meeting schedule is posted on the Village web site and all of our meetings are open to the public.
